Member Spotlight: Heather Steenrod, Ozone House

Ozone_House_Feb_2013_082-(2)Heather Steenrod is the Development Director for the Ann Arbor-based nonprofit organization, Ozone House Youth & Family Services. Established in 1969, Ozone House was a pioneer in the U.S. in the area of helping run-away youth in crisis. Today, Ozone House offers supportive services for young people who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, experiencing extreme crisis, or running from unsafe situations. It is the only youth shelter in Washtenaw County.

As Development Director, Heather’s responsibilities include stewardship, fundraising initiatives, event planning, public speaking and community relations. Her current project is managing the sixth annual Evening at the Farmer’s Market fundraiser for Ozone House which takes place September 13th at the Ann Arbor Farmer’s Market.

Heather has been a part of the Ozone House team for nine years, and has served as Development Director for the organization for two years. She’s an active volunteer for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Fund.

Prior to her work at Ozone House, Heather was with Borders Group, Inc. for 12 years in the role of Sr. Manager for corporate and educational sales.

Member Spotlight: Caroline Chipman, Vice President & Senior Trust Officer, Key Private Bank

Caroline is responsible for administering all types of trust and asset management accounts, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, individual retirement accounts, custody, conservatorships and estates. Prior to joining Key, Caroline was a paralegal for seven years in the probate and estate planning areas of a law firm in Saginaw.

Caroline is a graduate of Ferris State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and an Associate Degree in Legal Assistant. She is also a graduate of the Cannon Financial Institute Trust School.

Leslie-McGrawLeslie McGraw, Owner and Founder of Les Go Social Media Marketing and Training, is a social entrepreneur with expertise in social media marketing and content management systems, volunteer coordination and writing and 13 years of experience in the areas of online community management, training, leadership development, and social networking sites.

Leslie has her Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management from University of Phoenix and received specialized training in journalism, website content creation and management and database design and management from Washtenaw Community College, Eastern Michigan University, and the University of Michigan.

Leslie’s recognition and awards include The Leaven Center’s Eleanor S. Morrison Scholarship for Creative Writing for Social Justice, 2007 and the University of Michigan’s (U of M) Distinguished Diversity Leaders Award 2008 and 2009 (as part of the Women of Color Taskforce).
