Joe Sefcovic graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1988 with a Bachelors Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Joe earned his Certified Hotel Administrator Certification in 1999 from the American Hotel and Lodging Association. He is an active board member of Ann Arbor Area Conventions and Visitor’s Bureau and past Chairman of the Board in 2009. Currently, he is the president of the Washtenaw County Hotel Association, and sits on the Advisory Board for the Eastern Michigan University Hotel School and the Accommodation Ordinance Commission board for Washtenaw County.
Joe has worked at ten hotels in six states in his hospitality career, which spans over 25 years. He has worked in hotels ranging in size from 119 rooms to over 1,500 rooms. He has worked for six major hotel brands, including five different Holiday Inns. Joe has accumulated over 20 years of service to the Holiday Inn brand.
Joe assumed his roll as General Manager of the Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan in May of 2005. Since that time, he has renamed the hotel and overseen numerous remodeling projects including the marvelous five million dollar transformation. As a hospitality professional, Joe believes that outstanding guest service is the most important thing a hotel can offer. In 2008 he spearheaded an effort to become Ann Arbor’s friendliest hotel. Since then the Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan has earned its Green Lodging Certification from the Michigan Department of Energy in July of 2010.
Joe currently resides in Monroe, MI with his wife and son.
